Lincoln Leads Primary Foe, Lags Republicans in Arkansas Senate Race

Embattled Arkansas Sen. Blanche Lincoln has a 12 point lead over her opponent for the Democratic nomination, Lt. Gov. Bill Halter, but Halter fares slightly better than Lincoln in general election match-ups against most of the five Republican hopefuls, according to a Daily Kos/Research 2000 poll conducted April 12-14.

Lincoln's support in all the match-ups with GOP hopefuls tops out at 43 percent, and her numbers in this poll haven't moved much since last month including in her contest with Halter.

The survey has Lincoln leading Halter 45 percent to 33 percent with 16 percent undecided. The primary is May 18.

Rep. John Boozman leads Lincoln 50 percent to 43 percent with 7 percent undecided. He leads Halter 48 percent to 41 percent with 11 percent undecided. Get the new PD toolbar!

State Sen. Kim Hendren leads Lincoln 49 percent to 42 percent with with 9 percent undecided. He leads Halter 46 percent to 43 percent with 10 percent preferring another choice and 13 percent undecided. (The margin of error for the poll is 4 points)

Businessman Curtis Coleman leads Lincoln 46 percent to 43 percent with 11 percent undecided. Halter leads Coleman 44 percent to 43 percent with 13 percent undecided.

State Sen. Gilbert Baker leads Lincoln 48 percent to 41 percent with 11 percent undecided. Baker leads Halter 45 percent to 43 percent with 12 percent undecided.

Businessman and Tea Party activist Tom Cox leads Lincoln 46 percent to 43 percent with 11 percent undecided. Halter leads Cox 44 percent to 43 percent with 13 percent undecided.

This is good. I don’t want her to lose her primary. Then she could just say screw it I’ll vote for Obama’s policies. At least this way, she thinks she has a chance of winning and the should rein in what are truly her liberal instincts.
