If the proverbial smoking gun was produced and it was shown he is constitutionally unqualified to hold the office, he’d probably step down. Impeachment and conviction for high crimes and misdemeanors would be a slam dunk (as long as there were more Americans than commies in the Congress.)
His only other option would be to try to hold on to the office by force.
Technically, I don’t think he can be impeached from an office that he doesn’t legally hold.
