Michelle Obama Says U.S., Mexican Governments Can do More to Tackle Drug Issue-
On a visit to Mexico, first lady Michelle Obama said today that in despite recent drug-related violence along the U.S. border, Mexico is still a safe country for Americans to travel with their families and said she hopes to bring her daughters south of the border for a visit.

Michelle, I agree it’s safe. I think Free Republic is willing to come up with the money to send you and Obama on a free trip to Mexico, all expenses paid. You might want to leave the girls with grandma (we are not completely heartless). You two have fun, get to know the people, especially in Tijuana. We know that 18,000 have been killed since 2006, but your husband believes, in humility, that the world loves him. So go & have a great time. Send us a postcard.
I've got a hispanic friend who has gone back and forth to Mexico all his life. Right now, he's scared to death to go there. Same thing goes for my son's father-in-law. MObama is FOS.

Mexico is pretty safe if you’re a friend of corrupt officials, drug cartels, felons, thieves, and other assorted scum. Michelle would know.
Why the hell is she an advocate for boosting tourism spending in MEXICO? Is she still so ashamed of her country that she won’t speak up about foreigners vacationing in the US? This is extremely weird!

With the United States Secret Service clearing every venue and forming a corridor around her, she is very safe. However, that’s not how you and I travel (methinks she forgets)
If its so safe, why doesn’t she send the kids on a little vacation with grandma and no secret service protection. I’m sure she thinks Mexico is safe enough to do that. (do I really need the /s)

Sure, Mexico is safe...if you have your own armed guards to escort you everywhere.
