Marie Antoinette famously dismissed her starving, seething masses, saying, "Let them eat cake."
In a modern twist of French fancy and Habsburg haughtiness, President Obama yesterday skipped town on thousands of tapped-out, ticked-off taxpayers, telling them instead he will send them to Mars.
Angry taxpayers from around the country stormed Washington yesterday, demanding that the federal government stop taxing them into poverty to pay for all its half-baked schemes that never quite pan out as promised.
The latest such scheme is a $1 trillion health-care program that Washington promises will lower costs and provide better insurance for all. In other words, look for long lines and grab your wallets!

He needed to be spaced out.
He might have gotten something done otherwise.
Ironically, there’s no indication that Marie Antoinette said that, even though people say that all the time.
Unfortunately, Obama is our own contemporary French Aristocracy.
Therefore, fellow citizens, we must meet him EVERY STEP OF THE WAY when he leaves Washington and is out on the road regionally, and have large and loud and peaceful and mocking anti-Obama demonstrations in his path, along the motorcade route, outside his hotel or speaking venues, you name it. Knowing full well what he thinks of US, we have every right to assemble and greet him and let him know what we think of HIM.
Frankly, I wish he and his miserable wife would disappear off the face of the earth.
He always runs away. Last time there was a big Tea Party in Washington he got in his helicopter and flew to, I think, Wisconsin, where he could find brainwashed Liberals to listen to him and applaud.
Well, the fact is that we are playing football and they are playing hockey. Notice all that ice we slip and slide on?
We want to discuss issues and they want to bypass those issues and lock in power grabs that are permanent.
We want ethics and they lie and cheat and steal as a matter of course.
We want human rights for everybody and they talk human rights and lock up people by the millions in government dole addiction.
The playing field may or may not be level, but we’re playing two different games.
Someone should photoshop BO and “It’s All About” Mechelle’s faces onto pictures of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. (though the BO’s would never dress that well in a million years).
