Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon have expressed support for Iran's nuclear program and stated that Israel should be forced to dismantle its nuclear weapons.
Speaking at the nuclear disarmament conference in Tehran on Saturday, the foreign ministers of the three countries insisted that Iran has the right to develop nuclear technology meant for peaceful purposes, just like every other country.
They also called for a diplomatic solution to the dispute over Iran's nuclear program.
"We support Iran's pursuit of peaceful nuclear technology," the Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) quoted Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem as saying.
Lebanese Foreign Minister Ali al-Shami said Iran's nuclear program is peaceful and Iran is not violating the terms of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported.

Maybe we should pull of Iraq today..no sense building a country for Iran...
Smoke ‘em while you have them.

Maybe it’s a muzzie thing, and us westerners just don’t understand .... /s
Shia crescent. Iraq is majority shia. Syria is a client of Iran. The Ba’atjhist regime is Alawi dominated and Alawites area Shia sect. Lebanon is both a client of Syria and held hostage by the Shi’ite Hizbullah.
Except, of course, the US.
So you are starting to doubt George W. Bush’s wisdom?
Soemone needs to tell Iraq to STHU.
They owe us.
kinda sorta...george aint in dc andafter obama got elected things changed...we are staring communism in the face in this country and he seems more pro dictator than pro american.
Georgy Porgy attacked the wrong country. He got confused and attacked Iraq, when was supposed to have bombed Iran.
Remember the shia vs sunni Jihad in Iraq? Iraqi has about 60% Shiite. We should arm the Sunni Arabs, encourage Russia to arm the Shiite and watch from the sky for the next few years!
Look at Syria: “Syria has never had a large Shiite population, but in recent years there has been an increase in conversions to Shiism within Syrias Sunni, Ismaili, and Alawite populations. The geographical proximity of Iran to Syria has always led to a certain degree of Iranian influence there, which increased with Bashar al-Asads succession to power in 2000 after the death of his father Hafiz. The Syrian governments encouragement of Iranian missionary activity may be the chief cause of the increase in conversions, but it is not the only one. The existence of an indigenous Shiite population and of historic Shiite shrines in various parts of Syria, the nature of Shiite worship, the medias power, the perceived victory of Hizbullah in the Lebanon war of 2006, the strategic wooing of influential Syrians, economic and educational inducements to the less affluent, and the dominance of the Alawite sect in politics are other factors that must be considered.
Accurate statistics about the various religious groups in Syria are not easy to come by because of the Alawite regimes sensitivity in matters of this kind. The International Religious Freedom Report for 2006, published by the U.S. State Department, notes that Alawites, Ismailis, and other Shiites constitute thirteen percent of Syrias population, or about 2.2 million people out of a total population of 18 million.”
Nope, they are thanking you! The Shiite are the majority of Iraq, we removed Saddam so Iran moves in little by little.
“Maybe we should pull of Iraq today..no sense building a country for Iran...”
Agreed. Daniel Pipes pointed out in his excellent 2003 article “A Strongman for Iraq” that we needed to put a “democratically minded strongman” in place. In other words, we desperately needed a puppet dictator to help things along, and we are reaping what we sowed with our loathsome incompetence and risible lack of will.
Meanwhile, all the Assyrian Christians have fled to relative safety in Ba’athist (Nazi) Syria, one of the sites of the Assyrian Holocaust, just as the Mandaeans are being forcibly converted to Mohammedanism under the watchful eyes of the American leadership. Even the Eurotrash Dutch are horrified by what is happening to the non-Muslims in Iraq under supervision.
LOL! Iraq, Syria and Lebanon are still the axis of EVIL. Our new fake pRez doesn't changes that. They are Camel Dung. Why are they even quoted?
It’s like 1938 all over again, except this time Chamberlain is on THIS side of the pond.
Why not just leave , and move the troops to the oil facilities...to guard the wholesale rape and pillage of Iraqi oil that we should have done to begin with.
ya ...just where is all this iraqi oil we were suppposed to see....
