I am not referring specifically to the Obama care issue but to the general doctrine of the republican party, case in point: the McCain nomination, failure to stand behind Palin , or fight to the death against Sotomeyor, spending under the Bushes etc, etc .

McCain was nominated by GOP primary voters...which, like it or not, probably includes you and me (though I doubt either of us voted for him in the primary). You can't really blame the "party" for that.

Yeah, the GOP has been a huge disappointment to the conservative cause. But, fact is, we now have Congressional Republicans standing up on their hind legs and fighting back. You want to dismiss that?

Clearly, the reason their backs have been stiffened is because there has been such a powerful reaction to Obama's policies. By us.

To keep the Republicans on the straight and narrow, it's essential that we continue to motivate them. Even after they're elected.

I'd say conservatives have learned our lesson, too. Our job isn't done after we've elected a Republican Congress (or President). We've got to hold their feet to the fire...
