Joe & Mika Miffed Tapper Not Tapped For ‘This Week’

Some cross-network love for Jake Tapper on Morning Joe today, as MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski expressed respect for ABC’s Jake Tapper, and disappointment that ABC News had not chosen him as permanent host of its Sunday talk show, This Week. Instead of elevating its home-grown talent, ABC has brought in Christiane Amanpour, late of CNN, to fill the vacancy created by George Stephanopoulos’ move to Good Morning America.

Joe and Mika made their comments after rolling tape of Tapper asking Bill Clinton, in an interview aired yesterday, whether he should have been considered to fill the impending Supreme Court vacancy.

Tapper is too “right-wing” for NBC, because he asks fairly hard questions during the WH press sessions with 0.

I am an expert on this topic: I haven’t watched either ABC or CNN in over a decade. Pretty good qualification, don’t you think ?

Don’t know about Tapper but I DO remember Amanpour being absolutely unbearable to watch.

As I recall, she married the Clinton Admin’s State Dept spokesman, who then moved to the UK, one supposes as self-imposed exile during the Bush years. So now that it’s ‘safe’ they’ve come to the US. Why do I see the White House hand in this selection.

What a stupid question. Even Obama isn’t dumb enough to nominate for the Supreme Court somebody who could not practice before that Court. The Supreme Court disbarred Clinton after his plea bargain.

As Justice Thomas and Representative Sorrento pointed out a few days ago, you don't have be a lawyer to serve on the Surpeme Court, or a natural born citizen.

Although I agree that Obama is not going to nominate Clinton. Too old, not radical enough. White Male. No way.
