Sen. Collins pledges to block Democratic Wall Street bill By Alexander Bolton - 04/19/10 04:19 PM ET
Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) announced after meeting with Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner on Monday that she will vote to filibuster a Democratic Wall Street reform bill.
Her announcement hurts Democratic chances of moving financial reform legislation through the Senate this week.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said last week that he planned to bring the legislation to the floor this week, but Collinss stance means that Democrats will likely not have the 60 votes needed to begin floor debate.
Collins said she and Geithner found common ground on many areas of financial regulatory reform and urged Democrats to spend several more weeks negotiating the measure. RELATED ARTICLES

Collins said she told Geithner of her belief that we can work out a truly bipartisan bill that will strengthen our financial system.

Hope they block everything from now until O’s out of office.
Snowe will cave IF THE PRICE IS RIGHT! She always AND ONLY does what is best for SNOWE!
If they have surrendered November, are there no (none, NADA) patriots left in the Democratic Party?
Perhaps our favorite RINOs are feeling a little vulnerable.

Damn RINOs at it again, supporting Obama, supporting anything conservative Republicans oppose...they just can’t help themselves.

IMO he and Boehner have been doing an amazing job at keeping the dogs from straying.
The RINO’s are largely falling in line. Obama’s agenda is too toxic even for their notoriously strong stomaches.
Scary!
You can tell them it’s another Harry Reid / Nancy Pelosi crap sandwich of a bill.
Both the ME whores will cave. Ben Nelson showed them the way.
Moreover, while this is a bad idea on the surface, consider the power this places in Obama's hands. Which is the bill's real purpose, of course.
Under the circumstances, a company and its employees would not be advised to contribute to the Republican party or any of its candidates...
The "Financial Reform" bill is an insidious piece of totalitarian trash.
Oh geez. Why do we even have bankruptcy laws?
Let’s hope she took note of what happened to Stupak when he tried holding out for more.
