TAMPA, FL -- Gov. Charlie Crist sat down with ABC Action News reporter Sarina Fazan Monday afternoon. When asked about whether or not he will run as an independent in the race for U.S. Senate, he said he has not made up his mind yet.

"I can tell you I'm getting a lot of advice in that direction. I'm a listener and so I'm certainly listening to it," said Crist.

He also talked about the decision to pull all of his political ads.

"I wanted to talk about what we've done in the administration to improve education to keep crime down to reduce taxes and just the common sense approach that we've taken in this administration to share with the people of Florida," said Crist.

In the past Crist has skirted questions about a possible independent run. But he now admits many around him are pushing for a party change

The Tea Party is an official party in FL. Perhaps Crist could run as the Tea Party candidate. :)

Actually, a Crist 3rd party bid helps Rubio. However Crist running as a Dem, could make the FL Senate race into a tossup.

This joker said on Fox News Sunday point blank to Charles Gibson that he would run as a Republican, when he was asked if he would switch parties if he lost the primary. What a lieing SOB!!!

Might even backfire. Split the collectivist-parasite vote.

He should bow out, finish his term as governor and run against the other idiot senator in 2012.

Give the guy a break - he took on a “beard” wife so he could enter national politics. What is he supposed to do now?

Anyone who drank from the bottle of Obama-nation does not deserve to continue public life.

Poor ol Charlie wrapped his lips around obummer's butt that it has marred him (Charlie) for life against all conservatives.

This sounds like when the Dems were trying to get Hillary to drop out. She stayed in until she negotiated the terms she wanted.

I bet Crist is playing hardball with Republicans right now, trying to get a deal. Money or future support in another race.

Sunday, 3/28/10
CHRIS WALLACE, HOST
CHARLIE CRIST

WALLACE: ...have been persistent rumors in Florida that you are so far behind, at least currently, in the polls...that you may run instead as an independent. Here is your chance to dispel all the rumors. Are you willing to pledge right here, right now that you will run in the Republican primary for the U.S. Senate and not run as an independent?

CRIST: I’m running as a Republican...

WALLACE: So are you ruling out that you will file as an independent by the April 30th deadline?

CRIST: That’s right. That’s right. I’m running as a Republican.

WALLACE: You will run not for a governor — you’ll run for Senate, and you will run as a — in the Republican primary.

CRIST: ...I’m running as a Republican...

WALLACE: Will you support the winner of the GOP primary, whether it’s you or Marco Rubio?

CRIST: Of course I will...

WALLACE: Well, I’m going to get — I’m going to — I’ll give you an opportunity for a final statement. I just want to say, though, you are saying you are going to run in the Republican primary for the U.S. Senate. You will not run on the no party affiliation line.

CRIST: That’s right. That’s right. That’s what I’m saying.

Go ahead and run as an independent, Crist. You better stock up on sacks because you’ll have to put one over your head every time you walk out your front door to avoid the heckling you’ll receive.

Ask yourself if you really want to subject you and your family to the relentless vocal displeasure your constituents have for you (with the exception of the teachers who are delighted with the dismal public educational status quo).

He’s a politician. He’s also a RINO. If his mouth is moving, he’s lying. That’s all we need to know. Primetime Charlie is only out for himself.
