Here’s a fellow-travelling Hayworth-hating comrade for the WaPo; it’s interesting how this clown masquerades as a “conservative” while he backs RINOs and attacks conservatives. Notice how he manages to inject an accusation of Nazism into his smear:

What Is There About “Unelectable” That We Don’t Understand?

Posted by: Michael Medved at 3:52 PM

The scandal-scarred background of former Congressman J.D. Hayworth makes him an unworthy primary challenger to Senator John McCain. His deep involvement in the Abramoff lobbying disaster, and six-figure payments to his wife more through a political action committee, led voters to scorn Hayworth in 2006 – despite a GOP registration edge of more than 60% in his solidly Republican district. Hayworth’s controversial book on immigration quoted approvingly from racial theories of Henry Ford during his pro-Nazi phase; the publisher reported sales of less than a thousand. On the key issue of spending, McCain has always been a deficit hawk and never sponsored an earmark; Hayworth was a notorious pork barrel spender. In the unlikely event that Hayworth won the primary he’d be unelectable in the fall—just as in his last Congressional race—handing a crucial Senate seat to Democrats.”

Gerson is a former speech writer for Bush 43. The RINO establishment sticks together.

McCain's RINOs and RINAs will say anything.

Medved is lying through his teeth. He should join ACORN. SEIU wouldn’t take him, as he is too much of a wimp.

The Truth About Hayworth:

After 4 months of listening to lies and misleading innuendo put forth by the incumbent and his minions, its time to look at the questions being parroted by the masses. Some are speaking out of spite knowing that most will not or can’t verify the claims made. The vast majority of Arizonans don’t have a clue what happened 5 or 10 years ago. I intend to debunk some of the disinformation being spewed about. Lets start here-

If JD Hayworth was a good congressman , why was he voted out.? This is an excellent question although a bit rhetorical since the McCain campaign knows all too well what shenanigans were pulled. Also in this field are accusations that CD5 constituents got stuck with their current dem disaster because of Hayworth. Look through the liberal Wikipedia page on Hayworth, McCains talking points can be found there.

Due to the 2000 census, Hayworth’s CD6 was reduced in size 80%. The remaining 20% (now CD5) had a slight majority of MODERATE Republicans, key word being MODERATE. Quote from the Wiki article- “During his first four terms, Hayworth represented a district that took in most of the northeastern portion of the state including Flagstaff. Most of its population was located in the Phoenix suburbs. After the 2000 census his district was renumbered the 5th District and was made a much more compact district centered more in the Phoenix area.”

Hayworth carried this area through the ‘00, ‘02, ‘04 elections. In ‘06 his chances were torpedoed by none other than McCain’s hit man Grant Woods. Woods led a MODERATE republican mutiny by backing Democrat Harry Mitchell. There’s several pages of names endorsing Mitchell at http://commongroundcommonsense.org/forums/lofiversion/index.php/t60520.html
Highlights of the list-
Janet Napolitano Gov
Grant Woods
Neil Guiliano (google this one)
Terry Goddard
Raul Grijalva
Ed Pastor
AFL-CIO
Assoc of Trial Lawyers
SEIU
UFCW

See anything out of place yet? All these left wing loons backing McCains guy? It gets worse-
Lets pull up some excerpts from the East Valley Tribune-
http://commongroundcommonsense.org/forums/lofiversion/index.php/t58218.html
Woods is quoted as saying- “His rhetoric (Hayworth’s) on immigration, in particular, is hurtful”. (scratches head, how long did murdered rancher Krentz complain about no border security?)
Also in the article is this quote by former mayor Guiliano- “As a moderate Republican, I would rather have a moderate Democrat in office than an extreme far right Republican”.
Well congratulations, you got a mod Dem who sold your keyster right up the socialist river. Speaking of selling , lets look at this gem from Open secrets-
http://opensecrets.org/indexp/summ.php?type=R&cycle=2006
Scroll down the list to Az dist 5. Looks like both parties spent about the same dissing each other, 1/4 mill each. Now note the amount spent FOR each party, R $61,326 D $622,083. Who’s got the political clout to turn off the support?
Lets look at what Harry M has accomplished thanks to the backing of Mr Woods and his master-
http://harrymitchellwatch.wordpress.com/
You can peruse the entire list at your own leisure
.
Now lets jump up to the present. Why is the McCain/ Woods machine still harassing Hayworth? Could it be that Hayworth represents the extreme far right? No, that can’t be, nobody could be more conservative than John McCain [eyes] .Character matters.

One last item for the night. Talk is that Hayworth’s lawyers have found a way for people to withdraw their signature from another candidates petition.
Why the outrage? I can honestly see people withdrawing their support from McCain for the untruthful garbage he’s spewing state wide. I’ll also add that I was asked to sign a 3rd candidates petition and was told it didn’t matter if I had signed for a previous candidate. Candidate 3 is standing in the shadows and pushing McCain’s agenda against Hayworth. This makes no sense unless he’s shooting for the #2 spot in the primary(LOL) or trying to play spoiler.
