Plus when all the shooting was over, no fire department was allowed on site. They put out the fires with bulldozers. Kind of hard to find any evidence once the site has been run over a few times.

That is probably the most ridiculously formatted post, I’ve ever seen. Do actually expect someone to read that mess?

I don’t understand your comment.

A thorough study of the Waco incident would make it clear to any thinking person that the “official” story of the event is patently false.

Koresh was a nut. He thought he was the “Lamb” of Revelation. But that is not a federal crime - yet.

The ATF was scheduled for budget hearings in March ‘93. The agency had gotten terrible publicity because of Ruby Ridge in the summer of ‘92. They wanted to stage a big raid and seize a bunch of weapons and justify their funding.

They thought the Davidians would be an easy target. They were wrong.

They all got away with murder.

Nobody ultimately gets away with murder. The Supreme Judge will decide.

I didn’t know that. Waco happened when I was 32 years old and paying attention. I could not belevie that our government would fire on their own citizens. Since witnessing that I have no illusions about what our government could do to any one of us.

Koresh was mad-man, who probably institutionally molested young girls, and kept women against their will.

This was an 'unfounded assertion' made by JANET RENO, (who knows all about the subject of institutionally molesting young girls and keeping women against their will, down in Florida), in order to justify the need to RAID the compound, instead of backing off and letting Koresh come out.

"but Waco which happened during Clinton’s term in office so how could it be GWBsr fault?"

I understand we were talking about Waco and I understand it happened under Clinton. I know it was not GWBsr's fault. I was explaining how someone here said it was. Ok?

Common sense should tell you there is a huge difference in the infidel hating muslims and a Christain church. Christains don’t cut off heads and teach their children to hate and kill anyone who disagrees with them. Christains don’t intend to take over the world. I don’t think Koresh had any plans of taking over the world and killing everyone who disagreed with him.

"A thorough study of the Waco incident would make it clear to any thinking person that the “official” story of the event is patently false."

What "official" story are you referring? Did I mention "an official story"? Nope

The feds had a search warrant signed by a judge. The Davidians refused entry and made it clear that they would forcefully repel any attempt by the authorities to enter the compound.

Apparently, you want to live in a country where people can ignore law enforcement. I don't. If it's ok for the Davidians to ignore federal search warrants, it's certainly ok for Islamic extremist operating in the US to ignore those same search warrants, right?

Sure, and I am smart enough to understand that if Koresh were detained off sight, executing a warrent peacably would be more likely. But that wouldn’t have given ATF their big media splash they so badly wanted. And I am sure you are smart enough to understand that.

I'd even take issue with this statement. Yes, Clinton, his subordinates and officials in Texas mishandled this, and perhaps even violated federal law with respect to assets deployed to the situation. But, David Koresh is the person who is directly responsible for Waco, not Bill Clinton.

Koresh was mad-man, who probably institutionally molested young girls, and kept women against their will. The world is better off without him, it's just too bad the federal government was so fiercely incompetent that they allowed some 30 children to be killed in the process.

Sorry, I disagree with you here. I won't defend Koresh, as I also believe that he was a whack-job. However, the simple fact is that:

a) child molestation was NOT cause for the BATF to do a "no-knock" raid on the Davidians.

b) Koresh regularly went into town. If they wanted to arrest him, it could have been easily and safely done.

But then that wouldn't have generated an "exciting" news clip at the time that congressional funding of the BATF was being considered.

The simple fact is that there was NO REASON for all of those people to have been murdered (including the BATF agents killed during the initial assault). The blood was spilled due to political concerns.

Mark

No, common sense doesn't tell me any such thing. Christians - if you want to call Korsh that, I certainly wouldn't - aren't exempt from federal laws. Perhaps that's the world you wish to live in. I don't.

Laws apply equally to everyone of every religious demonstration, race or gender. People don't get a pass because they claim to be Christian.

Are you this obtuse in your real life, or is it an internet persona you've created?

The agents could have easily arrested Koresh in town. He personally lead the "defense" of the compound. This was after he told an undercover agent in his compound to leave and tell them he knew the agency was coming.

So despite knowing that their "surprise" raid was no longer a surprise, despite knowing that they were heavily armed, despite knowing that there were dozens of children present, and despite knowing that there was a nut in charge, the ATF decided to go in guns blazing anyway.

That's criminal incompetence and stupidity, but you can keep arguing how justified they were.

They didn't just have an arrest warrant for Koresh, they had a search warrant for the compound.

Too bad Clinton wasn’t nearly as eager to attack al-Qaeda as he was the Branch Davidians.
