Maybe you only have "the media's word about that", but I have my own common sense, my professional understand of US law, and the service of valid search warrants. If the government - state or local - shows up at you door with a search warrant and you repel them, you can't bet some violence is going to happen. Why should David Koresh be any different?

It wasn't just about apprehending and questioning Koresh. It was about - and the search warrant was obtained for searching the compound. The authorities needed to gain access to the compound, and a federal judge agreed. Why is that so difficult to understand?
The warrant was based on falsified affadavits. The entire federal investigation was completely bogus.
Texas Child Protective Services had investigated the allegations of child abuse at Mt. Carmel and concluded there was no basis for criminal charges.
Waco was one of the greatest examples of flagrant abuse of power by the US government in history.

No. That was a totally different group. Nothing was ever proved that Koresh was anything but a self appointed religious leader. I remember one of the governments complaints against him was that they didn't think there was any heat in the compound and that was child abuse. The BD's believed that the government would one day attack their compound and thats why they armed themselves and thats exactly what happened. How many Freepers lately have talked about arming themselves against the government in fear that they are going to come after them?
uuhhhhh..... yeah, sure. That's it. They killed themselves with poison koolaid way before the Siege on Waco, which is why it was so easy for the FBI and the Military to raid the compound. The government was not to blame because they were all dead before the Special Forces Group torched the place and shot any moving corpses.
