Brasil and Iraq had a lot of pre-gulf war cooperation on their respective missile programs. I would not be surprised if Brasil has secretly restarted their nuke program.
Externally it looks quite similar to an ASRAAM. Same design requirements I presume - i.e. long range for an IR/IIR missile, high speed, vector thrust, IR/IIR sensors, etc. I wonder how it compares in terms of cost to the ASRAAM. Good job by S.A/Brazil.
