Why just for President? It should apply for every office, from Recycling Chief, Animal Control Warden (Dog Catcher), Selectmen, Mayors and even former Senators from Illinois on up. You stop the stealth candidates early.

Why just for President? Because the Presidency is the ONLY office specifically required by the Constitution to be a Natural Born Citizen. Lesser offices have lesser requirements.
