¡ Si Usted Desea una vida mejor, construya un MÉXICO mejor!
Sorry, you’re wrong. I am the former deputy director of the National Indian Health Board and the former executive director of the Phoenix Area Indian Health Board. The former had responsibilities nationwide, the latter, in four states, Arizona, California, Utah and Nevada. I myself am a member of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma. I spent much time in the cities and outbacks of Arizona. I ran across many who do not speak English. In fact, I took our board members to dinner in the little Mexican town of San Luis. (The board was meeting in Yuma.) We had trouble getting back across the board into the U.S. because the WIFE of our president didn’t speak English, and another family member of another family didn’t. When I went to meet in small reservation communities, I often had to take an interpreter with me. And several of these little communities were within four or five miles of a U.S. or state highway or interstate.
You’re right - because the LEGAL Hispanics are not going to be affected!! This isn’t about anyone here LEGALLY.
Arizona has a 9.6% unemployment rate. I’d hazard a guess that the “illegals working in the Arizona economy” are replaceable.
I wonder how many have left since AZ started cracking down on employers. I agree with Brewer—if the Feds won’t do it, the States must take matters into their own hands.
Although I’ve had cops here in FL tell me they call the INS when they catch illegals driving without a license and they won’t do anything so I’m not sure how AZ plans to enforce this without INS assistance!
Really? Where are your statistics?
Perhaps the very elderly but the young ones all know how to speak English.
And none of them speak Spanish. Navajo and other Native languages sound very different, as I’m sure you are aware.
AZ really can’t afford it cuz they are cutting beds in both juvenile corrections and adult corrections but hey if this bill passes maybe I can get my job back.
Yes, and he's sweating ballots over it...
You may have it back!
It seems I’m gonna be out of luck. Our state unemployment rate will rise cuz this this state will spend money defending against this bill rather than spending money to create jobs.
That would translate to:
El dragón magnífico de La Raza.
Thank you. I’m going to remember that and use it whenever I speak of La Raza.
In that case you should have some proof that many Native Americans/Indians don't speak English, there would have to be reports out there documenting that. Through my own experiences I find it real hard to believe.
Not speaking English will not be used as the only critera in any case and I am sure you know that- whether you choose to admit it or not.
I realize it is really hard to defend the position of not enforcing laws against illegal immigration- but using Native Americans as an excuse is pretty lame.
“It seems Im gonna be out of luck. Our state unemployment rate will rise cuz this this state will spend money defending against this bill rather than spending money to create jobs.”
If you were actually a conservative, you’d know the government doesn’t create jobs! Get the illegal aliens out and you’ll have jobs...MATH.
How is it allowed that anyone educted in the United States not learn English ?
Another reason why we need to make English the official language.
educated. I’m literate, just not wearing my glasses.
bump
Ping!
My GF is saying the same thing, and how she is personally boycotting Arizona. Not a problem, as I can arrange a golfing trip to Scottsdale with my buddies, sans minha namorada.
