Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer on Friday signed a controversial bill that seeks to crack down on illegal immigration.

The sweeping measure will make it a crime under state law to be in the country illegally. It will also require local police officers to question people about their immigration status if there is reason to suspect they are in the country illegally.

Earlier, President Obama called the bill "misguided" and said it could violate people's civil rights. The bill's Republican sponsor, state Rep. Russell Pearce of Mesa, said Obama and other critics of the bill were "against law enforcement, our citizens and the rule of law."

Exactly.

See http://www.butterdezillion.wordpress.com

We either became a nation with the rule of law, or we become the same Mexico whose drug lords now pattern their behaviors after those who beheaded Daniel Perle and posted the video of it.

Where’d this governor come from? Heard her clip on the news. She had a great remark that this bill was to compensate for the federal government's “misguided” inaction on this for years. Nice to slap that particular word sharply back across “The One”’s face after he just used that word to criticize the Arizona law in his usual condescending tone.

Anyone have any doubt whatsoever that this excuse for a President, is a treasonous offense to patriotic tax paying citizens of the United States of America.

If this bill is “unconstitutional” (Which “constitution” are they talking about?), wouldn’t Arizona DPS asking me to show them my vehicle registration, driver’s license and proof of insurance ALSO be “unconstitional”? I know. I know. The Klowns at the 9th Circus are going to shred this thing to bits. They always do.

I love it.

Especially after all the times this jerk has flipped the bird at strong women, it’s about time he had it back in his own face.

Well done, Governor!

Now if Governor Lingle would take the cue...

On second thought...there could be a problem with it by my understanding. They might have to amend it to read that *all* people questioned/detained by police in AZ are to be questioned regarding their immigration/citizenship status.Do that and *no* questions can be raised regarding “discrimination”.

“Arizona Governor Signs Controversial Immigration Bill”

It’s “controversial” to enforce the law? How about we park a busload of illegals in front of obuma’s Chicago house and tell them to go inside and make themselves comfortable.

“I am not a racist, I feel no hate. I love my country and my state.”

Watch, next thing you know, AZ will say that if you are in the country illegally you can’t be POTUS.

Judge Napolitano said this will be determined to be unConstitutional—and bankrupt the state with law suits....I am VERY interested to hear Mark Levins take on this issue.

Oklahoma passed strict immigration laws in 2008 but haven't been challenged.

It’s okay to be an illegal president... Now it’s just not okay to be here illegally.

Hey, you have a point there.
You know, it's funny how the AP never referred to a “controversial” bill when 0bama signed the really controversial, rammed through 0bamacare bill which most Americans were against, yet the AP is busy calling a bill that 70% of Arizonians support as “controversial”. The lamestream media never fail to deliver on their total bias do they?

There’s a strong case against it being found unconstitutional.

The feds powers re immigration are to “make uniform” the standards and rules for immigration.
But NOT to enforce them! That was still up to the states!

If the fed abdicates its responsibilities, and it clearly appears to have done so, the states have every right to take action.
