This story leave a lot of unanswered questions. Are guns banned from the parking lot of this airport? Is it posted? Was this fellow waving this gun around? Was it holstered? Or could he have been simply securing it in his car before he went into the airport?

As for the flashing light "similar to a police light" on his car. A lot of people in my neck of the woods have them, some are emergency first responders others use their cars as "follow" cars for wide load trucks. I don't know what the law is in NC, but in my state you are permitted to have them as long as you have a valid reason.

They never said the color of the stobe lights in the article, which makes a huge difference.
