Terrifying. But does this club-med missile exist anywhere but in CGI-world?

Has this thing actually been tested? Russia’s arms-makers are starting to acquire a reputation for empty chest-beating.

In a sane world, the Russians’ marketing of such a potential tool of terror would prompt the most serious response by the United States of America.

Klub K can be tipped with a tactical nuclear weapon.

I could even see the Russians floating nuclear tipped (and conventional) Klub K’s on their merchant marine vessels for use should they need to knock out our carrier battlegroups.

I am sure this is, somehow, going to be blamed on America... or Bush.

This is what we get when we let the greenies regulate energy production. The price rises, the Russians can then fund their military machine, and we pay the consequences.

I’m sort of thinking out loud here, but say we strongly suspected that Iran had gotten a hold of one of these.

The range on a cruise missile is about 600 miles (I think), so how would they be able to get it within range of the U.S.?

I doubt they’re going to be able to get it onto any major shipping line, and it’s not like rouge container ships can show up. We know where every container ship is and where it’s supposed to be going.

It’s about 3,000 miles to England, once it got past the midway in the Atlantic, we’d certainly intercept it.

In the end, it would pretty much kill any export business Iran had because of the headaches involved with moving their container cargo.

Stupidity reigns supreme with our regime. It is only a matter of time before the world slips into WWIII it is looking more and more like the only way out.

Just like WWII finally brought an end to the progressive misery during the 20’s and 30’s WWIII will bring an end to the idiot progressives this time around as well.

Hopefully enough of the idiots within our country will not forget and actually do something to protect the future our children's children.

For our children as a nation we have now failed miserably for them.

Ok... guess we’ll just have to go back to indiscriminately bombing all civilian areas.

Simple solution.

Buy a few through a broker.

Give them to the Chechens.

This I believe is a blatant violation of the Geneva Conventions.

From this link here http://fletcher.tufts.edu/multi/warfare.html, article 7 states that you cannot have civilian ships armed a warship.

Article 1. A merchant ship converted into a war-ship cannot have the rights and duties accruing to such vessels unless it is placed under the direct authority, immediate control, and responsibility of the Power whose flag it flies.
Art. 2. Merchant ships converted into war-ships must bear the external marks which distinguish the war-ships of their nationality.
Art. 3. The commander must be in the service of the State and duly commissioned by the competent authorities. His name must figure on the list of the officers of the fighting fleet.
Art. 4. The crew must be subject to military discipline.
Art. 5. Every merchant ship converted into a war-ship must observe in its operations the laws and customs of war.
Art. 6. A belligerent who converts a merchant ship into a war-ship must, as soon as possible, announce such conversion in the list of war-ships.
Art. 7. The provisions of the present Convention do not apply except between Contracting Powers, and then only if all the belligerents are Parties to the Convention.
------------------------------------------------------------

The spirit of the Geneva Convention is that you cannot mix or disguise military & civilian vessels/equipment and use the civilian vessel as a vehicle of war.
However who has ever heard of these commies and their terrorist allies ever holding to the 'rules of war'? Isnt China right now arming & supplying the Taliban & Al Quada while claiming its rogue arms dealers that are doing the dirty work?
