No, I DON’T think this is the first time an “official” has told a joke, blah, blah, blah...but I DO expect that the jokes are appropriate, etc - did you hear the audio of the “joke” being told? I did and it took freakin’ FOREVER for him to tell it - a TOTAL waste of time - and was stupid to boot (yes, my opinion but looking at most of the comments on this thread, I am NOT alone!)
So, with the money the US tax payer is paying, I think lame jokes should be kept to a minimum...MY opinion (and my right to express it) as a tax payer and a proud American

Of course you can have your opinion that the joke was not correct, lame etc.. and think jokes should be kept to a minimum. Just keep that in mind when a future Republican appointed official tells a lame joke. However, that does not get to the point.

The point is that he was not trying to be anti semitic, he was not catering to the muslim community etc.. as some have alledged. That is a demeaning of his character that is not deserved given his long service to this country. If anything, a man of General Jones stature should be given the benefit of the doubt. He is one of the few and I mean very few (possibly the only one) in the Obama administration that is a good guy not out to destroy our country and way of life as we know it.
