The Bible says Noah's boat came to rest on the mountains of Ararat (Genesis 8:4). Ararat probably designated a region (the ancient kingdom of Urartu) and not a specific mountain peak. After Noah and his family left the Ark on the mountain, the boat virtually disappeared from the pages of the Bible. Later Biblical writers never suggested they knew it could still be seen.

Thats my assumption, I figure it came to rest somewhere along the Black Sea coast of Georgia. I'm going to guess that this was a monastery or something.
If this turns out to be the ark, it would certainly be exciting, and it would very much surprise me.

Lot’s of debate out there. I’m more inclined the Ark rests in Iran or Arabia.
After the flood, Noah’s descendants ultimately came to establish Babel (later Babylon) they came “from the east”:
“And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.” -Genesis 11:1,2
