Sen. Lindsey Graham, the sole Republican working on a bill to legalize illegal immigrants, in effect put the bill on the shelf on Tuesday, saying that a debate now would destroy any prospects for passage and that the issue needs to wait until 2012. The remarks likely signal the end of any serious chance for broad immigration legislation to pass this year, since Mr. Graham, South Carolina Republican, was the best hope for a partnership with President Obama and Democrats who want to write a bill.

By 2012, hopefully the SC GOP voters can ‘primary’ this RINO goober out of the Senate.
Correction: No immigration bill for the foreseeable future. If it doesn't pass this year, it's not gonna pass in 2012, 2013 or anytime in the foreseeable future either, not after we've taken control of the House in November.
Wow Ms. Napolitano...I’m proud you know the southwest border better than anyone else. The problem is, it was like swiss cheese while you were there and remained that same way when you left. Now, we have a true American in Gov. Brewer that’s cleaning up the mess you left.
God help us all from these incompetant dolts like Janet.
Freudian slip? You be the judge.
to bring it up now would so anger Americans that it would kill any chance of getting the issue passed this year
He has the votes. He won't do it because it will toast his "other serious Democrat" friends in November.
