Hermosillo is a town about 300 miles south of the border that's a popular destination due to proximity to Kino Bay, a beach resort. A lot of people who live in Arizona have relatives in that city as it is one of the larger places in Mexico near Arizona. So it's a connection for narcotraffickers in Mexico to their relatives in Arizona.
This is what happened with the secretary in Douglas.
Was talking to a friend this morning who works right on the border; he agreed that it's like that: you go to the DMV in Arizona and you might as well be handing over your information to the Sinaloa mafia or similar. Everyone knows it, including the cops. But do something about it? Really hard.
But the burners just got turned up. Might get real hot for people doing things like that.
