Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar was asked in a Feb. 26, 2010, letter from Western Caucus Chairman Rep. Rob Bishop, R-UT, and other representatives from western states for the missing pages from a leaked government memo that contained detailed information about the administrations plans to designate as many as 14 new national monuments and lock up as much as 13 million acres in states throughout the West.
Bishop and his colleagues asked Salazar to provide the missing pages by March 26, or a month after their letter went to the Interior chief. More than two months later and Bishop has received exactly nothing from Salazar in response to the February 26 request.
Joining Bishop in making the request of Salazar were Rep. Doc Hastings, R-WA, the ranking GOP member of the House Natural Resources Committee, and 14 other members of the Western Caucus.
The congressmen have seven pages from the memo, including pages 15 21, which list the 14 potential new monuments and costs associated with the project, but the members have no way of knowing what else was in the memo or how many pages it totalled.

Staircase Escalante all over again!!! More power grabs in a part of the country that is overwhelmingly under government control anyway.

States should be taxxing the fed’s for the land they stole from the state!
can they make him produce the docs?
The states should stop this. No more.
No they can’t be imeached. However they serve at the president’s pleasure and only he can fire them. The president can be imeached with a majority of congress voting for it. Don’t think that is going to happen in the near future, do you?
No, and more’s the pity. It just shows how far this Congress and this nation has degenerated. THey won’t even ask for his authentic birth certificate.
So how much percentage wise of land in the United States is “set aside” for this reason?
It would be interesting, I’ll bet it is past 10% if I had to guess..
Agenda 21.
Whataya mean? Look how one state is currently being beat up for even the slightest, most feeble attempt at courage as in AZ demanding the United States of America allow that state to enforce FEDERAL law!!!
Someone needs to file a FOIA request.
It would be interesting, Ill bet it is past 10% if I had to guess..
More like 30% total. More per western state.
Stumbled across this site: Printable maps - Federal lands

We should limit the fed to less than 10% of all totaly land in the US to be “owned” by the federal government.
They want to annex new land they have to get rid of the other land they hold first.
Forefathers would shoot us for letting the country slide this far. Can’t do it by ourselves. Glad to see America trying to wake up (TEA party). Fearful that post # 12 is closer than America is aware of....water is getting warm said the frog.
