Every day the left is telling the American public that Conservatives are crazy, racists that use fear to convince the people that Liberals are evil. Then the next time they hear a Conservative talk about how "Obama's goal is to ruin this economy" or "Liberals want to control every aspect of American life" the only thing they can think is that they were right. The original poster makes a very good point here. I think he's off the mark slightly in his suggestions, but his fundamental point is very important and IMHO it's lost on many conservatives. Liberal leaders use a variety of mind tricks to insulate their brainwashed masses from the truth. Attempts to educate liberals which do not take into adequate consideration the effects of the brainwashing will generally be counter-productive.
I wish I could profess some good ability to overcome other people's Liberal Mind Fog Disorder. As a former liberal, I think I understand it better than many conservatives, but unfortunately, even with such understanding, I have not figured out a cure. I do, however, recognize some things as being counter-productive and would suggest that knowing what not to try may be at least somewhat useful.
