Republicans, who have stood together in opposition to Democratic policies like health-care reform, have not yet cobbled together a unified response to Arizona's controversial anti-illegal immigration measure. The law, which requires police to ask for immigration papers from anyone whom they have a "reasonable suspicion" might be in the country illegally, was signed into law Friday by the state's Republican governor. (For more, read my explainer on the law and debate here and some information on possible boycotts here.)
Sarah Palin came out swinging in defense of the law on Fox News yesterday: She accused the Obama administration of a "shameful" attempt to make the law into a "racial issue" by suggesting it will encourage cops to stop and question legal Hispanics in their search for illegal immigrants.
"It is telling the federal government that they better wake up, buck up, and do their job in securing our borders," Palin said. But Palin's defense followed criticism of the bill by several prominent Republicans.

How is it the GOP that is divided??
“The law, which requires police to ask for immigration papers from anyone whom they have a “reasonable suspicion” might be in the country illegally,” Wow— blatant lie by glaring omission of detail.
Sarah Palin; the last REAL man standing in the Republican Party.
Republicans would be well advised to jump on board.
Blow that out your as*, AP.
It is called AP lying their butts off.
Btw, Pawlenty dissed the law on Hewitt’s show a few minutes ago.
Best he go somewhere else (if that's what he did).
Sarah Palin; the last REAL man standing in the Republican Party.

It just goes to show what the Repubs in Washington have turned into — when a lady has to stand up and do their bidding for them. Disgusting sacks of crap. Bought and paid for by Washington elitism.
It only divides Republicans and Libertarians.
The Democrats are the ones evenly divided judging by the Rasmussen poll posted a couple days ago.
Sarah and Michelle Bachmann.
We need to start a boycott of California.
>How is it the GOP that is divided??<
.
The GOP believes in diversity between RINOs and Conservatives.
Most PUBs sit down when voiding.
Oh geez.
“Arizona immigration law divides Republicans and conservatives”
No, it divides RINOS from the rest of us. RINOS share a huge responsibility in allowing this mess to get so out of control. (McCain, Jorge and Rasputin Rove come to mind.)
Interesting that the states are all crying the financial blues, yet none will report the huge drain that illegals impose on our economy.
Did you read Jeb Bush's comments from yesterday? He isn't the only Republican for open borders in the Wall Street Journal manner.
Rubio - gone.
All Bushes - gone for good.
Andrew Napolitano - gone.
I think that’s the ticket!
