Two Dozen Illegal Immigrants Bailout Near Bishop (TX - Video Link)

BISHOP - -

It was one lone small town police chief trying to catch two dozen illegal immigrants this morning. When Bishop Police Chief Larry Lawrence spotted several people jumping into a truck pulled to the side of Business 77, he says something just didn't look right. He tried to question the driver but it turned into a pursuit reaching speeds of 90 miles per hour and ending in a crash. Lawrence said, "When he turned, I hit the breaks and I slid in and hit the drivers door on the other pickup." That accident happened where County Road 4 turns into County Road 89. The chief believes no one was injured in the crash because some 15 men sprung from the bed of the truck and eight or nine others ran from the cab. Only one of the men was captured. Everyone else got away including the coyote. "Border Patrol was notified... the agent explained to me that they were very busy and have no room for anybody. They didn't have the man power to come out and search for these other subjects," Lawrence said. The pick-up truck is registered to an owner in Katy. It was taken to the Bishop Impound Lot. The chief says of the dozens of vehicles there, almost all of them were recovered from bailouts. Though 24 people bailed out of just one vehicle today, it's not the least bit surprising to local law enforcement or area residents. Lawrence said, "It's very common now. It happens everyday." Local resident Travis Collins agreed. "It happens all the time. They never catch anybody," he said. The one man recovered was picked up by Border Patrol and will be deported back to his home county of Guatemala.

Yeah, but did he have sufficient reason for RACIALLY PROFILING the people doing the bailout? C’mon, it could have happened for some perfectly innocent, legitimate reason. I have a feeling some people’s HUMAN RIGHTS were violated by this officer! There should be a class action suit brought against him!!

Most LEO's are pretty adept at the reasonable suspicion thing.

How about a couple of bloodhounds and a posse of deputized citizens on horseback or ATVs. Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country. We typed this sentence a thousand times in typing class. Now it is for real.

Incarcerate them in a tent prison like Sheriff Joe and call ICE and tell them they aren’t getting anything to eat or drink but bread and water until they come get them.

TX needs AZ’s law but Rick Perry is a stinking RINO.

The TX House was split 76-74 in last year’s session. We’ve picked up some seats since, but Republicans barely have a majority. Considering the legislature isn’t scheduled to meet again till January 2011, there aren’t any opportunities to pass a law similar to to Arizona’s till after the November election. I’m sure that if the Texas legislature passed a bill, Perry would sign it.

Well the Florida RINO GOP has a majority in both houses but they are spineless like Gov. Crap err I mean Crist.

Marco Rubio when he was in the FL House made sure Arizona like bills were killed. He is an open-borders RINO.

The TX legislature only meets for 140 day every two years. Due to the bare majority Republicans had in the TX House, we had a hard time getting vital bills passed due to legislative games played by DemocRATS. Governor Perry had to call a special session to get the windstorm insurance reform bill passed. The DemocRATS didn't want the bill's author to get credit, because his victory of over 1 term incumbent Juan Garcia, which was the most expensive state legislative race in Texas history, allowed Republicans to maintain control. Had there been a 75-75 tie, the DemocRATS would have insisted on having a DemocRAT speaker.

The DemocRATS were also upset, because they were trying to groom Juan Garcia who was a Harvard law classmate of Barack Obama's for higher office such as governor or senator in the future. He is now the Assistant Secretary of the Navy.

Kindof off-topic, but I’m interested in seeing what we can do to get Constitutional Carry here in Texas. Have you heard of any groups working towards that?
