Obama judicial nominee Chatigny: I’m so, so sorry for supporting sexual sadist
The Daily Caller ^ | 4/29/10 | Jonathan Strong

A contrite Robert Chatigny apologized dozens of times to Senate Republicans at a brutal hearing Wednesday for his conduct relating to the conviction of a notorious serial killer. But his face – lips puckered, brow furrowed – may have said more than any of his answers.

The questions were so painful that Chatigny’s Republican tormentors repeatedly apologized for broaching them.

Obama judicial nominee Chatigny: I’m so, so sorry for supporting sexual sadist

Someone tell me something: Does 0bama ever nominate normal human beings for anything? Seems to me 0bama goes out of his way to find the most evil human beings he can find, then nominates them to be judges. When is this nightmare going to end?

The questions were so painful that Chatigny’s Republican tormentors repeatedly apologized for broaching them.”

The GOP Senators are apologizing for questioning a guy that supported sexual sadist?
Umm....what about the victim of this sadist, who was victimized TWICE? Once by her tormentor and once by this 0bamabot judge?

Oh . . . All better, then.

“Chatigny .... said Ross’s sexual sadism was “clearly” a mitigating factor and that his obsession with sexually brutalizing and killing women may make him “the least culpable, the least, of the people on death row.”

What?

The nub of it is that obama sees these people as normal. This the brew in which he has marinated.

Maybe he has such heartfelt reverence for sexual perverts because he know that, deep down, he's one too.

No decent honorable person would ever agree to be associated with this abomination of an administration.

Asking questions is torment?

And the Republicans apologizing is just one more example of what's wrong with Republicans. Democrats didn't apologize for borking Robert Bork.

From another source: Serial murderer and rapist Michael Ross, called the "Roadside Strangler," was convicted in 1984 after confessing to the murder and rape of eight different women. His story can be heard in his own words in YouTube clips. Yet Judge Robert Chatigny said: "But looking at the record in a light most favorable to Mr. Ross, he never should have been convicted. Or if convicted, he never should have been sentenced to death because his sexual sadism, which was found by every single person who looked at him, is clearly a mitigating factor."

It's torment to ask this judge about his sympathy for this pervert, but it's not torment that the pervert this judge wants to let go tortured and murdered at least eight women and brags about it?

Anyone needing more context:

Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) said Chatigny had done “everything possible to prevent [Ross’] execution. I just wonder why you think your behavior in this case — which is pretty extraordinary — why that behavior would warrant a promotion to a much more senior court.” ... Ross raped and murdered his victims, leaving their bodies strewn all over the state. [snip] [Ross raped and strangled a fourteen year old girl while another of the same age was trapped and watched before he strangled her too.]

It’s fine for a judge to be opposed to the death penalty. He might be a pragmatist who doesn’t like the immense cost of death penalty legal fights [caused by people like Chatigny]. Or he might believe that the death penalty is wrong for moral reasons. I’ve always found it strange that many people who try to spare creeps like Ross from execution, those same people generally don’t want to spare the innocent life of an unborn child.

Conservative justices are expected to uphold abortion laws, but what about leftist judges? Are they expected to uphold execution laws? That double standard has been around for a long time, and it goes deeper than this. We have judges who undermine free political speech, while nudity is protected “free speech”. Nudity deregulated, political speech regulated. We have judges who want to erode our gun rights, but then they force states to release prisoners and endanger a less well armed populace. [But I digress.]

Chatigny’s legal stunt [a special hearing] was so bizarre that the murderer’s own lawyer, T.R. Pauling, didn’t want to go along with it. Chatigny then tried to intimidate the lawyer — he threatened to yank Pauling’s law licence if he didn’t go along with the special hearing. Ross fought conviction for a long time before he gave up. He told his lawyer, Pauling, no more appeals. Ross mainly felt sorry for the victims’ families. His appeals had been putting them through hell.

But then came the judge. Chatigny insisted that there be one more hearing. The Supreme Court later overruled Chatigny 9-0 [very rare for all nine Supremes to agree on anything].

THIS is just the kind of man Obama wants to be a federal judge. This is the kind of man that is defended by leftist blogs:

Media Matters - DiscoverTheNetwork

Chatigny decided to pretend that he is a ‘law and order’ guy, that law alone dictates his decisions.

Chatigny testified that he had no agenda against the death penalty. No agenda?

House Minority Leader, Robert Ward, wrote a complaint signed by a group of his fellow republicans: “I can understand a lawyer not remembering the details of a case he was involved in ten or twelve years ago, but there aren’t many Michael Ross cases. His name is on the petition to the State Supreme Court. He clearly had an agenda in this case.”
