RE: “Original form?

I never received a “the census form is coming, the census form is coming” I never received the census form itself (short or long form) and I never received the letter to hurry and send it back in. oh yeah, and I live in a red district. I called the census line several times asking for a for-—it was never sent to me. And as a last resort, I tried to get a form at the local library-—the one in my red district said that they never got them. I called the library in the nearby blue district, was told they had them. When I got there the next day to pick one up I was informed that they were no longer available......

So, tell me, what more was supposed to do?”

**************

Here in L.A., in a 99% ‘blue’ area, census form arrived right on time - preceding warning notices arrived as well; then notices stating ‘don’t forget to mail in census form’ - got two of those.

Was in local library and found dozens of blank census forms sitting on a table for anyone to help themselves. No one monitoring at all — anyone could grab a handful - naturally that would overrepresent on the ‘blue’ side, given the area, esp. if number of occupants was large.
A whole bunch of new Sanchez’s and Morales’s would do the trick. Charming.

This entire census effort has been a total joke and detrimental to any ‘red’ areas as evidenced by your post, above.

Depressing,isnt it?

I also forgot to mention that the several times that I called the toll free (non-) help line, everyone had a decidedly Spanish/Mexican/Hispanic/Caribbean lilt in their voice. Not being racist, just an observation..
