Subsistence as Freedom
American Thinker ^ | 4/29/10 | Scott Strzelczyk

The Democrats' political endgame requires citizens to accept subsistence as the new definition of freedom.

/snip/

...Democrats tailor messages to disenfranchised groups explaining why each is not successful in America...Ultimately, every variation of the Democrats' message is premised upon removing personal responsibility from the equation and shifting blame elsewhere.

/snip/

A person relieved of all personal responsibility and willing to submit to the government for basic necessities...simply subsists as a ward of the government.

One of the best summations I have seen of what the left is attempting to do through implementation of their entire agenda. Good comments also at the site.

Look at Cuba and North Korea for examples of what leftists want. 95% of them are dirt poor, the leaders and their cronies are super wealthy.

That is liberal utopia.

I'll go 'em a step further and go Galt. I will reach subsistence before the government will.... which is obvious, since I'm getting by o the bareminimum and squirreling away the rest...... the government on the other hand is Trillions behind.

They can't fluff the system without the taxpayer. Eventually Galt's Gulch will get boring.... and then we can go Patrick Henry.

Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a
little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor
safety.
- Benjamin Franklin, reply of the Pennsylvania Assembly
to the governor, 11/11/1755

If all Americans want is security, they can go to prison.
They'll have enough to eat, a bed and a roof over their
heads.
But if an American wants to preserve his dignity and his
equality as a human being, he must not bow his neck to
any dictatorial government.

That’s it alright.

It’s not enough for them to be rich,
but everyone else has to be dirt poor

in order to satisfy their need to feel superior.

I profaned it with the caption.

And a splendid job you did of it, too.
