"Shame on Arizona" [Leftist propaganda campaign]
Presente.org ^ | 5/1/10 | Presente.org

Posted on 04/30/2010 10:19:59 PM PDT by sthguard

To give you an idea of the lies that the Left is spreading (both in English and Spanish, of course), this email went out to all their sheeple (I saw it on Facebook):

Arizona’s governor just signed SB 1070 into law, effectively making it legal to racially profile in the state. The bill requires local law enforcement to question anyone they have “reasonable suspicion” of being undocumented. Translation: you could be pulled over for no other reason than that you are brown-skinned or speak Spanish.

That Gov. Jan Brewer could sign such a discriminatory law — one of the worst in the nation — is a moral outrage. We need to send a clear message that Arizona does not deserve economic support from the rest of the country. Tourism is a huge industry in the state — bringing in $18 billion last year. With the passage of SB 1070, it’s time to say shame on Arizona and pledge not spend our dollars in a place where racial profiling is legal. Will you join us?

The bill that Gov. Brewer just signed makes it a misdemeanor to lack proper paperwork in Arizona. It also requires police officers to attempt to determine a person’s immigration status if they form a “reasonable suspicion” that someone is undocumented.

Leading police chiefs and sheriffs have even expressed outrage at the bill’s signing, saying that it will cause immigrants to avoid reporting crimes, and divert officers’ attention from going after violent offenders.

The conservatives who passed SB 1070 may not care about Latino communities feeling safe, but they definitely care about the tourism industry that brings in billions of dollars to the state. We need to show them that their decisions have consequences. Will you join us in saying shame on Arizona and pledging to stay away from the state? It only takes a moment:

Thank you and ¡Adelante!

Favianna, Laurie, Roberto and the rest of the Presente.org team

Apparently this form letter also went to Spanish-speaking members (translation may be a bit off as it's mainly via Babelfish):

Dear friend, I want to share with you some news of the last hour - the governor of Arizona Jan Brewer finished signing SB 1070, a discriminatory law that in essence legalizes the exercise of racial profile in the state. Arizona has gone. This law - one of the worst ones of the nation - is a moral scandal. We must send a clear message that Arizona does not deserve the economic support of the rest of the country. The tourism is an enormous industry in the state - last year it generated $18 billion. I hereby commit myself to do everything possible to avoid visiting the state or spending my dollars there, as long as the exercise of racial profiling is legal. Would you unite with me?

Hispanics are projecting.

Mexico does in fact base immigration on race. And on Language.

Slate today:

“[Mexico] incentivizes immigration from other Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries in Latin America and Europe by making those foreigners eligible for citizenship after three years instead of the usual five.*

Yeah, I pointed that out to the friend who posted the link on her profile— her response was to scream bloody racism and post links to Youtube videos (from 2009) about some Neo-Nazi rally in Arizona. Arguing with these idiots is just one non sequitor after another.

Setup a fake amnesty and when they all line up arrest and deport them.

Law enforcement has used this sort of tactic to catch criminals before.

These clowns talk like they have been hitting the happy smoke a little bit too hard. The language in the bill was changed today "effectively" banning "racial profiling". Stuff it Presente! Lying piggies.

So much for the boys "cotting" Arizona. The race hustler, Al Sharpton said tonight that he's coming to Arizona next week. Considering the entourage he drags around, it should be a big help for our economy.

Comparing the AZ law to Nazi Germany also seems to be very high on the Left’s talking points agenda. The most shameless, sick, demented comparison imaginable.

What fools. I would rather be an individual than a member of gnat brains who only exist to follow. What a heck of boring life.

The media continues to deliberately misrepresent this law. So did that moron, Obama.

I thought of another benefit of this immigration law:
Many Arizonans will probably sleep better at night now. The illegals may be a little reluctant to blast their stupid polka music outside all through the night now that they could be approached by the police for noise and be detected and arrested as illegals.

We need to send a clear message that Arizona does not deserve economic support from the rest of the country.

We need to send a clear message to these hosebags that New York, Seattle, and San FranCrisco don't deserve DoD support from the rest of the country.

<PA voice>"New Jersey and Tacoma residents, please don your welding masks and radiation suits now for incoming over New York and Seattle."

<clicks, /off voice>
