Independence would be tricky, because how many people would leave the island to come to the US to keep their US Citizenship.

I’d bet the liberals are just salivating at the idea of how many government dependents, SEIU members, congressional seats, voters, and tax revenue they will get from PR becoming a state. Millions of additional people brought under their control.

If the people there had half a brain, they would steer clear of becoming a state within this mess. Hell, I’d gladly have my state trade with them. They can come into the union, if we could be allowed to leave.

Yeah, the last I read on this the majority Puerto Ricans dont want statehood.

They’re in the sweet spot of getting all of the freebies and not having to pay a Federal income tax

Back when the U.S. started moving west and territories became States, the procedure was as such: All the territory had to do was produce a State Constitution to the U. S. Congress and then Congress voted on whether or not to allow them Statehood. The people do not vote on this; sad to say.

IF PUERTO RICO BECOMES A STATE, DEMOCRATS WILL RULE FROM NOW UNTIL THE END OF TIME.

This is about more freebies. Most Puerto Ricans don't earn enough to pay income taxes if it were required.

There’s already a very heavy union influence in Puerto Rico. From what I’ve been reading the SEIU, AFT, AFL-CIO and a few others are struggling for control.

Maybe we should call it Puerto RICO.
