NEW YORK, May 1 (Reuters) - The New York Police Department said on Saturday the incident that caused Times Square to be evacuated was what appeared to be a car bomb, which was being dismantled by officers on the scene.

Very odd...Two hours ago it was reportedly discovered by two female police officer hero's, that actually observed the suspect flee the scene.

My nephew was there and called home and said that there were 4 car bombings..his class was there on a field trip and he heard the explosions...so i don’t know what the media arent telling the public..

They announced earlier that some of the “explosions” were actually FDNY blowing out the windows of the car with a water cannon.

Hardhat, safety vest and work boots? My, doesn’t he look like a transit worker in the tunnel? Highway flares? I bet a subway train would come to a full stop inside the tunnel when it saw some of those. A quart container full of cyanide? Wouldn’t that create a very large cloud of extremely poisonous gas? Boy, I wouldn’t want to be trapped in an enclosed area when that cloud came rolling by!

There were close calls during the Bush years, too, but from what I’ve read, they were kept on the down low by his administration. Obama’s admin seems to want to make sure the incidents that happen during his are made public. Setting up martial law the possible reason?
