This is a Television Commercial from the PA Department of Revenue.
Pennsylvania authorized a Tax Amnesty period from April 26 to June 18, 2010. During this limited, 54-day timeframe, the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue will waive 100 percent of penalties and half of the interest for anyone who pays his/her delinquent state taxes.
Individuals, businesses and other entities with Pennsylvania tax delinquencies as of June 30, 2009, are generally eligible to participate in the Tax Amnesty Program.
This was authorized by Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell.

The ad is great if you want to dismantle government. heh
Ve have vays of making you talk!
I saw that for the first time last week. Scare tactics 101 was my first thought.
“Your papers please.” (Oops, maybe not that one).
Ct ran a similar ad years ago, complete with green eyeshades on the accountant studying the computer screen in a darkened room. I think it was NJ that ran an upbeat version with the blondie song “One Way, or Another” (I’m gonna getcha, I’m gonna getcha-getcha-getcha-getcha)
If they really did know who the delinquents are, then why not just go after them without any sort of amnesty?
Brought to you by the Caring, Compassionate Democrat (Nazi) Party.
The good news for PA: Fast Eddie is gone next January.
The bad news for the rest of the country: straight into the Zero Regime...
Absolutely correct.

Costs alot to chase them down & prosecute.
Giving it over to collection agencies loses half to the collectors.
Getting them in on their own to pay up is the cheapest way to collect the most.
They did catch one of my friends. He got a collection letter from a law firm, hired by the State I guess, informing him of his dilinquent tax due amount. The letter also informed him that he had already been hit with 25% penalty and would be further penalized if he didn’t pay up. The amount he owes, including the 25% fee, is $0.03. I can only guess how much the State has spent to collect three lousy pennies. I told him to see if they would sent up some kind of payment plan for him.
F'ing parasites.
