Why does this remind me of the GOP establishment (steele, newtie, etc) 'doubling down' on Scozzafava?

Certainly, Grayson is not as bad as Scozzafava but he seems the classic GOP establishment country-clubber. Rand Paul (he says he is not his father - fingers crossed he's telling the truth) isn't ideal but he has Palin's endorsement and he is better than Doug Hoffman (he can speak intelligently and persuasively in a media interview). I think this is one non-TX election where I could vote for a Paul.
