With the government (and we're talking about several administrations, from this one and back) -- "cash" equals either (1) terrorist or (2) illegal drug activity or (3) criminal activity.

That's why someone who comes into the country with "cash" (like that) is going to be on a watchlist ... :-)

But with this guy (the "bomber") his history also showed good reasons for the cash (university bills and buying a home), and he came from a prominent family, plus he married a U.S. citizen, he did graduate from the university, and he did get a job and he had two kids and he bought a home, and he wanted to become a naturalized citizen (and he did).
