I don't see this below, so I thought I'd post. The Triborough Bridge here in NYC has been closed because an abandoned rental truck, smelling of gas, has been found on the bridge. Who knows - may be nothing, but I thought it was worth the post.
NEW YORK -- New York City police are investigating a truck abandoned several yards from a toll booth near the Manhattan side of the Triborough Bridge.
Police say witnesses reported seeing a man flee the vehicle Wednesday night.
Local media is reporting that a bomb squad in on the scene.
NEW: NYPD Deputy Police Commissioner Paul Browne said the bomb squad has been dispatched to the site of the bridge

Great. Just showed up on Fox but I know that location and it isn’t near anything of value.
It it is a bomb it’s going to make a hole in the ground and that’s about it.
What if it broke down? Is that plausible? Nah! Just try to make it look like LEO, FBI and CIA are doing something about WoT. They are, for sure, but this isn’t it.
Does anyone else here think that maybe the CIA or other intelligence agencies are just sitting on their hands now? It is obvious this administration does not have their back, and is more willing to prosecute them for doing their jobs on defending this nation. If I was a CIA agent I would slow my roll too. There just has been a lot of amateur attempts, and foreign plots that it seems that agents are reluctant to act on, or break up.

Maybe the truck wasn’t meant for the bridge.
How about you give NYPD a break or at least a few props? They’re doing what they have to do, whether this is a break-down, a gas line leak, or a terrorist who didn’t manage to get his bomb all the way to LaGuardia, which is only a mile or two from the bridge.
My money’s on a gas line leak, but it doesn’t explain why the driver ran off.
The character was very eccentric with an extremely thick Scottish brogue. He’d have said “why run away” almost exactly as you unintentionally wrote it.
