The writers left out knowledge and skills before you need them. The authors also left out books, pamplets, technical manuals, etc. One of the first things the wife and I will grab is our "skills" bookshelf with loads of knowledge. Note: don't get smart and think your CDs and laptops will have all the info if the lights go out. Have it printed out on paper. Also, carry leisure books and board games....if you're not working, standing guard, or cooking/cleaning, youre going to need some social time and fun until the lights come back on.
