A carefully crafted immigration law in Arizona
Washington Examiner ^ | 4/26/2010 | Byron York

The chattering class is aghast at Arizona's new immigration law. "Harkens back to apartheid," says the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Cynthia Tucker. "Shameful," says the Washington Post's E.J. Dionne. "Terrible…an invitation to abuse," says the New York Times' David Brooks.

For his part, President Obama calls the law "misguided" and says it "threaten[s] to undermine basic notions of fairness that we cherish as Americans." Obama has ordered the Justice Department to "closely monitor the situation and examine the civil rights and other implications of this legislation."

Has anyone actually read the law? Contrary to the talk, it is a reasonable, limited, carefully-crafted measure designed to help law enforcement deal with a serious problem in Arizona. Its authors anticipated criticism and went to great lengths to make sure it is constitutional and will hold up in court. It is the criticism of the law that is over the top, not the law itself.

“fairness that we cherish as Americans” for Americans, not Mexicans that cross our borders illegally and demand their rights that they couldn’t even get in Mexico. You can expect that if they don’t stay in their own country and change things, they won’t help our country change things except to take and take and take. Time for a major change.....NOW.

I tink you hit it on the head. the Left is so wee wee’d up because they know it withstand court scrutiny so they are trying to get the public against it and demonize anyone who is for it ie repubs and conservatives.

“You can expect that if they don’t stay in their own country and change things, they won’t help our country change things except to take and take and take.”

A more succinct statement concerning illegal immigrants can NOT be made!

Mexico is NOT a 3rd world country! Their lifestyle is akin to the United States in the 1950’s! But, they see people here with 2010 technology and features and luxury and they want it NOW!

So, instead of correcting their problems and creating opportunities in their own country, they walk right across the border and - viola’ they are instantly richer!

In the process, they are bogging down our systems. They come here and live in 3rd world conditions (three and four families to a house), building onto existing houses without permits and without proper structures - bringing down property values, etc.... Not to mention all the other “little things!”

A really good example is my property taxes pay for my two children to go to the local schools. I have two house on my street in which SIX families live! They have eighteen (18) kids going to the local schools! These are the costs that people do not see or think about! The excessive traffic on our street has created more potholes and more fender benders - all costs that no one thinks about!

They do not come here to better themselves! They come here to take and take and then send back to their country the proceeds that you and I spend HERE (which helps continue to build our community)! The majority of their money is used to build THEIR community (in their home country)!!! SEND THEM HOME!
