The school did settle with them for an undisclosed amount. Don’t know why they didn’t go after the Duke 88. It may have been because their letter smeared the entire team rather than the accused players by name, or that lawyers felt that it would be too hard to prove libel given that so much of it was implied rather than stated outright.
