On the Democratic side, we find that we're no fans of incumbent Barbara Boxer," the newspaper said in an editorial Friday. "She displays less intellectual firepower or leadership than she could."

What does "intellectual firepower" mean?

Kind of difficult to have any “firepower” when you put your powder on your face instead of keeping it dry. She is a complete idiot and a total joke!

What does "intellectual firepower" mean?

It is a meaningless term written by a 24 year old with a poor education, a lousy command of English, and no clue what she really wanted to say.

The dumbing-down of America continues. On top of which, the media elite socialist liberals can't stand to criticize their own (Democratic Party members) in plain language, and will use all manner of twisted phrasing and euphemisms in order to soften the criticism until it becomes meaningless.

“What does ‘intellectual firepower’ mean?”

I think it means being able to win an argument. Wherein an argument is a battle, and firepower is whatever tactical intellectual weapons you have at your disposal. Yet another sad example of comparing everything to war, which apparently is among the only metaphors contemporary popular culture can muster.
