Attorney General Eric Holder on Thursday defended the Mirandizing of Faisal Shahzad, the suspect in the attempted Times Square car bombing, while senators had a mixture of praise and criticism for the timing of Shahzads arrest.
Asked during an Appropriations hearing whether the reading of Miranda rights had impeded the investigation, Holder said, No, it did not. As we have seen in prior investigations, the giving of Miranda warnings has not deterred people from talking to us, and Mr. Shahzad is, in fact, continuing to cooperate with us.

The list, ping
I notice that he does NOT make the point that Shazad is an American citizen, and therefore entitled to Miranda rights under previous court decisions.
Because, of course, that would raise the question of why the hell he is giving Miranda rights to foreign terrorists who are NOT citizens.
Of course, we also have the question of why Shazad attained citizenship, when a lot of much more promising candidates find it very difficult to get. Is he a citizen because we are now favoring Mohammedans?
Seems to me that Holder is looking at it as if there is no difference between an American citizen and a foreigner.
This guy, like it or not, is a citizen and that’s all Holder had to say.

When it comes to Socialist domestic legislation... Consti-what?
........”This guy, like it or not, is a citizen and thats all Holder had to say.

End of story!
But since we don’t even know whether his boss, Zer0, is a citizen, I guess he had to hedge his bets, for the future time that Zer0 comes up for charges of treason!
Remember the Hutaree? This has gone twilight zone. The feds appear to be fighting among themselves on this. Federal prosecutors managed to keep them in jail after a clinton appointed judge ordered them released. They were kept in jail because of the completely unrelated shooting of a Detroit cop this week and now the feds are claiming GPS isn’t adequate for tracking them. The feds also want to take guns away from 3rd party custodian of Hutaree suspects.
going back to the original 37 release order and stay that kept them in jail.

But of course Holder won't mention that.
I believe that one of the main points of incarcerating prisoners in the War on Terror outside the US was to avoid the possibility that the courts might want them treated like normal criminals. It seemed to be an effort to keep them out of the jurisdiction of the States in order to keep the 14th Amendment from coming into play.
I think it is going to be necessary to try Shazad in our domestic criminal courts. If not, it sets a very dangerous precedence.
-pation!
Ex-lax Fedzilla!
I guess I should add, "Get me outa here quick!" LOL
You can’t charge a non-citizen with treason.
