On paper the man looks brilliant. I have seen that there are speeches he has made on YouTube but I have not had time to look at one and I am reluctant to form an opinion and intrude on the bandwidth unless I think I know what I am talking about.
On paper he seems fine, there is no contrary fact or opinion that I have been made aware of. Perhaps some might object because he is softer on Russia than is some alternative choice, John Bolton for example, but I am of the opinion that detante with Russia is necessary to forestall an axis with China and Iran which would tend to split Europe and isolate us. This should only be undertaken with a clear eyed view of the real nature of Vladimir Putin.
We shall soon see if Trump has put together the right team for that job if it is in fact his plan.
