The problem is that many of the jobs become jobs Americans won’t do when illegals drive the wages down to ridiculous levels. Apparently that’s not a problem in this case, but it happens a lot here in Texas with jobs such as welding, housekeeping, etc.

Simple enforcement of existing laws, lots of illegals (especially the criminals) go home; Americans fill vacant positions, pressure on wages goes up, unemployment goes down, and even the illegals that choose to stay take extra care not to drive drunk, commit, domestic violence, or scam social services. I wonder if Arizona could pass a law that allows them to conduct audits like the feds did in this case, so that they could go to a workplace and arrest illegals for violating Arizona’s new law. The problem is the feds almost never do this, and if Arizona did this, and also had penalties for the employer, it would be a great way to show how we could eliminate illegals simply by enforcing existing federal laws.
