Libya chairing the old Human Rights Commission served to discredit that rotten institution once and for all. The UN's Economic and Social Council has just elected Iran to a seat on the UN's women's rights commission - formally known as the Commission on the Status of Women. There's more yet. Iran has also just obtained three other seats. Iran is one of 16 new members just elected to four year terms on the Commission of Science and Technology for Development. Maybe they can provide handy tips on capacity-building for nuclear bomb technology. Iran was also just elected to the governing council of the UN-Habitat along with Venezuela, ruled by Ahmadinejad's close chum, Hugo Chavez. Iran also sits on the governing council of the UN Environmental Program, UNICEF and the World Food Program - which has also just elected Cuba and Sudan to seats on its board. The thought occurs that it would be easier to just ship the entire UN - lock, stock and seating arrangements - to Iran. Why should Americans bankroll, dignify and host these abominations?

What did they do to deserve that? The Iranians, I mean.
Cool, this is a COOL idea, wow...I’m sure that the women of the world will be delighted to have their Kohemini’s dictate to them the dress code.
True that.
I have a better idea: Move it to mecca.
That way all the UN diplomats would have to be muslims. I doubt there would be many women invited, and those that did manage to get UN postings would know their place...
If we’re taking a vote, I say move the UN to Zimbabwe or Haiti.
No. It belongs in Harare.
