And the exact same thing goes on with Booze.

Booze doesn’t just affect the user.

Booze makes you violent and mentally useless and drags the whole place down. How many people don’t go to sporting events, concerts or public parks because of the drunks.

Here’s the data:
In 2008 - 11,773 people died in drunk driving accidents. Just Drunk Driving - .08 BAC about 3 drinks in an hour for a healthy man. Two drinks for a woman.
In 2008 - 0 people died because of Pot.

I’m not saying that marijuana is harmless, far from that. I don’t want kids smoking it at all, I don’t want my airline pilot listening to Reggae the night before the flight. I don’t want the trucker take a puff break.

Is the danger of Pot to adults really worse than Booze? Is the danger of Pot to adults really worth the cost of the War on Drugs? I haven’t smoked pot in almost 15 years and even back then it was only once or twice a year - just not my thing. If they legalize it, I’m not going to start smoking it.

“Booze doesn’t just affect the user.”

You are comparing A GLASS OR TWO to DRUNKENNESS.

A couple of glasses of wine a day, a couple of beers after work, does NOT “make you violent, mentally useless, drag the whole place down, ruin sporting events, make drunk driving accident (you are actually allowed a certain level of blood alcohol when driving). . .

DRUNKENNESS does all of the above.

I am not and have never supported DRUNKENNESS.

I have been saying, since the first post I made, that a person can socially drink and not be impaired.

I am all for the stiffest of penalties for DRUNKENNESS.

I will not begin smoking pot if it is legalized, either.

However, as I made a very good example of with abortion (at least I thought it was good), when something is made legal, a LOT more of it occurs. When Roe v. Wade passed, abortion rates went through the roof.
