He said he had the audacity to hope that America could rise above the politics of partisan polarization and embrace the sunlight paths of compromise and cooperation. But that was then and this is now.

Faced with falling polls and the chance of wholesale obliteration of his majorities in Congress, President Obama has plainly decided to pursue the very politics of division and partisan animus he once claimed to eschew.

To grasp the reasons behind Obama's descent into the mud, start with some basic facts. In 2008, he won almost exactly the same percentage of the white vote that John Kerry won in 2004. The reasons he won and Kerry lost were all demographic:

A President who mocks and taunts Americans, who incites his followers to be confrontational, is troublesome.

This is not a man capable of acts of courage and character. He is a street fighter who, in his own words, will bring a gun to a knife fight. He requires an unfair advantage because he cannot win in a fair fight.

They should emphasize employer penalties for hiring illegals so that the flow dries up and neither harsh laws like Arizona’s nor an amnesty will be needed.

The Post sowing confusion. Harsh laws? What harsh laws the one patterned after U.S. law? No one in congress is speaking out for employer penalties that I know of. Amnesty, I’m curious how that ends up in an article telling Republicans what to do. Actually no I’m not curious at all. The only choices mentioned would be harsh law or amnesty. There are a great many choices, not just the two.

O’s base resides at the bottom of the septic tank. He’s right down there with them.

most people who voted for obama voted for him becuase he was black. They didn't have a clue who he was or what he stood for, or how badly he would destroy their futures.

All these "under 30's" that voted for him are now wondering where the jobs have gone and why they are working at starbucks making near minimum wage instead of actually using the college degrees they spent so much money to earn.

Maybe the idea will work it's way through their immature minds that liberalism NEVER works.

Churchill said that if you're not a liberal in your twenties that you haven't got a heart. If you're not a conservative in your thrieties you haven't got a brain. I disagree. If you're liberal than you have neither a heart nor a brain. Liberalism destroys everything it touches.

We so desparately need more "heartless" people in this country.

Never mind. Most of the under-30’s are STILL BLAMING BUSH for everything that’s wrong. Until the Democrat Big Media tells the truth (when pigs fly?) Zero will continue to shirk responsibility for his evil destruction of our beloved country.
