The search was focused in the red areas on this map of the ocean floor.

My guess is that we had an island capsize because of too many people and that is what they are seeing.

The Greifswald group hypothesises that they were part of a reef that grew on a basalt platform and sank during a seismic event in the oceans crust. Or maybe the fountains of the deep overwhelmed the reef. But I guess considering some sort of giant flood is ridiculous.

Bang on! The flood of Noah’s day explains a lot of the unusual undersea discoveries. Most will scoff at giving a bible account any credibility.

Only if the Biblical account is inaccurate. It says:
13 By the first day of the first month of Noah's six hundred and first year, the water had dried up from the earth. Noah then removed the covering from the ark and saw that the surface of the ground was dry.
14 By the twenty-seventh day of the second month the earth was completely dry.
OTOH, science has clearly documented from hundreds of sources, and consistant with thousands of field observations, that the sea level rose 300ft when the glaciers melted at the end of the last ice age.

Or maybe the fountains of the deep overwhelmed the reef. But I guess considering some sort of giant flood is ridiculous. Considering that sea level was some 300-400 feet lower at the height of the last ice age, the odds of giant floods during the past 10,000 years is pretty close to 100%.

Where was I? Oh yeah, If it’s sunken it’s not an island but a sea mount.

Oh my gosh, you telling me that Japan is also getting ready to tip over ?
How in the world did that guy ever get elected? How does he stay in office? Does no one in his district know the kind of things that he says?

I did some googling on the Beata Ridge, which appears to be the beginning of a plateau extending east. I'm not a geologist and I finally gave up trying to understand Caribbean geology, which to say the least is complicated.
