COLUMBIA, S.C. -- A group set up to push South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford's agenda has begun airing ads praising state Rep. Nikki Haley as she campaigns for governor.
The ads began airing Monday. They're a shot in the arm for Haley's cash-strapped campaign. The $530,000 she had in cash at the end of the March was a third or less than any of her three GOP primary opponents.
ReformSC says it is airing the ads statewide but would not provide details on how much it is spending to put Haley's name and face in front of June 8 primary voters.
The ad includes images of Haley speaking at a tea party rally and calls Haley the state's new conservative leader. It says people should support her efforts for on-the-record votes at the Statehouse.
