Now that digital has taken over, those coat hangers are useless.

It could be a long, hot summer with rioting in the streets. I hope they can get this fixed for the idiots. There are probably higher priority issues that are going to bring on riots. Currency devaluation, food supply problems, high energy prices. Cable is hardly on the radar.

Leave the hanger in the closet. Rabbit ears are useless with digital signals. Then again there is still the chance you may lock your keys in the car, and you may be able to use it then.

The Shuttle would not ever have been an option. The Shuttle’s maximum altitude was somewhere between 260 and 300 miles above the earth. These satellites orbit around 23,600 miles above the earth. That’s why the Shuttle’s orbital period was ~90 minutes and these satellites’ orbital period is 24 hours.

uh oh....if Lifetime, Oxygen, MTV and the Game Show Network all go down, we could have a situation in the streets that makes Greece look like a Sunday picnic... If "Lifetime" goes down how are the women of America gonna learn that it's just fine to shoot your husband in his sleep?

We always got better reception when we put tin foil on the coat hanger, too.

Leave the hanger in the closet. Rabbit ears are useless with digital signals.
Actually, the antenna itself WILL receive the signal, so the old rabbit ears still work. But what is needed is a "converter box" to translate the signal from digital to analog for older TVs.
Newer digital TVs should be able to hook up to rabbit ears (or a coat hanger) directly.
