And then there was East African Airways, that among other things used to fly "milk" runs literally to Mombasa

EAA(East Afircan Airways) also flew to London, Mombasa to Narobi via prop and Narobi to London via BOAC 707 or EAA Comet 4 and BOAC 707 to New York and from New York to anywhere.

You'll find this interesting, Britain had two ships that regularly traveled from London to Mombasa via the Suez Canal, SS KENYA and SS UGANDA

The SS Uganda was later used as a Hospital Ship during the Falklands war
